Welcome to my new blog about the low sodium life

So this is my new little blog about eating low sodium.  More people than ever are being diagnosed with kidney issues and being told this can help.  My husband was about 6 years ago.  We found changing over very difficult because there was not many great items out there and we simply had to find them.
So this blog is going to be a way to share what we have discovered for other people like us who really need to eat low sodium but don't have the time or funds to buy lots of expensive stuff and spend lots of time cooking it.
So today I am sharing one of my very favorite things in the world.  Herb Ox sodium free bouillon.  Where to buy it .  I have linked it in packet form because that is my choice for purchasing.  Seriously we buy this stuff by the case.  Today I am using it to make a roast.   It has a great flavor and makes gravy or sauces and just meat taste a bit better.
I also will just sprinkle some on a steak before I cook it and use it in soups and stews.  One of the hardest parts of low sodium cooking is getting real flavor.  This combined with things like garlic, onion and pepper works great.  Here I used it with some fresh apple cider as I love the cider in the Fall.
I find one to two packets depending on how much soup or roast I am making is great.  So the ease of use and the cost make it one of my must haves when cooking low sodium.
